The Sunday School children are
planning solos and songs to go with Luke 2: 1-20, Christmas Eve at 6:00
PM.
The first Sunday of Advent is November
30. Our liturgy for Advent and Epiphany will be Setting 10, page 203 in
the Evangelical Lutheran Worship. Each liturgy song is a familiar
hymn, as follows:
Kyrie, hymn tune Southwell, “Lord
Jesus, Think on Me”; Canticle of Praise, hymn tune Hymn to Joy
“Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee”or Nun Danket All, “Come, Let Us
Join Our Cheerful Songs”; Gospel Acclamation, hymn tune Unser
Herrscher, “Open Now Thy Gates of Beauty”; Thanksgiving, hymn
tune Land of Rest, “Jerusalem, My Happy Home” and Communion, hymn
tune Twenty-fourth, “Love Consecrates the Humblest Act”
Each
hymn is assigned a tune name, found in the lower right hand corner of
the page. Our hymnal is a textbook, full of history and information.
Yours in Christ, Barb Romans 15: 13 “May the God of hope fill you
with all joy and peace in believing.”
Barbara
